November Club

Our November club was a super fun Thankgiving celebration!

We started out the evening by decorating handprint-shaped cookies into turkeys!

These guys made a yummy icing sandwich!

Melissa {mentor} and her sugar-turkey

Baby Lyllian getting to try some of that delicious icing!!

Next, we all traveled over to what I like to refer to as the cozy room! It's a good place for club talk-- instead of the noisy gym area.

Debbie came up with just a neat idea for club this month! She made really cute mason jars for each of the girls to select. Then, there were tons of pretty scrap paper strips for the girls to write encouraging words to fellow YoungLives-ers. Of course, the mentors and other volunteers had fun writing too!

And when it was all said and done, each girl had a pretty jar full of nice things other people had written about them! And the paper inside is super pretty too. A great resource for when you need a pick-me-up!

Of course, YoungLives Club just isn't complete without a meal. And this meal was ah.ma.zing! It was an all-out Thanksgiving feast!!!

Can you see all of those dessert plates?! Yum!!

The tables were even decorated. It was so cute!

Everyone enjoyed sitting around and visiting!

Mentor Carol got to enjoy some time with cute, little Aiden.

Daddy Isiah was able to come to club and give Alyiah a ride on his shoulders.

And who doesn't love them some baby snuggles!?

We had some new faces at club this month too! We will introduce them soon! Our Christmas Club is coming up in just a few weeks and it is going to be great!! So excited.

October club

October club was so much fun! We had a several new faces-- both babies and teens!

The kids came dressed in their costumes!

Lion Aiden with Daddy Justin

We all played a get to know you game where we had a race to find new and unknown facts about each other! And since I played, I totally forgot to take pictures. But it would have looked like a bunch of people with paper and pens talking to each other if you care to picture it in your mind.

Next, some volunteers participated in a fun, messy game. Using popular halloween candy and snacks, using frosting as glue, they raced to complete the word "Baby". Each group had different strategies and it was fun to see what the final result was!

Amy and Brandi

Jaelie and Taylor

Kayla and Justin

Here are the results:

And just when we thought the game was over... it continued on. One partner had to hold the glass and the other was racing to clean off the glass by eating all of the candy!

{Amy, please don't hate me for this picture, k?}

Things started to wind down when we went to the comfy couch room and sang a few songs while Tanya played guitar.

Debbie shared a touching message about how certain events and situations in our lives cause us to put on different masks in order to try to please the people around us. She even brought a picture of her daughter with different masks as a visual. It all came down to saying that our God, our Creator, loves the real us. He creates us exactly the way he wanted us and he doesn't expect and he doesn't want us to pretend to be what we are not. I wish I would have just video-taped her speaking because I can't even do it justice. Want to do it again Debbie!?

Before the meal, the moms enjoyed some "shopping" and they all picked out a few items to take home! Who doesn't love shopping?!

And YoungLives club isn't complete without a meal... and it was delicious-- BBQ and french fries. Yum!!

We had a great time! For more information about our club-- to join, to volunteer, or even just to ask a question, just leave a comment and we'll get back to you!

October Welcomes and Introductions!

This past month was super full of new faces, new babies, and even a new pregnancy announcement. Here's what's going on!

We welcomed Haley to her first YoungLives club!

Also new to club this month were Jaelie and Taylor!

There were TWO brand new baby additions this month! We just love ourselves some cute little baby love.

Jaelie and Taylor welcomed a baby girl in September!
Name: Kieesha Cheyenne Oleta-Rae
Birthday: September 22, 2011
Stats: 2 lbs. 2 oz, 14 inches
(Kieesha was born three months premature and is still in the NICU. She is expected to stay there until at least December. Please keep Kieesha and her parents in your prayers! We can't wait to see her at club when she's healthy enough to join us!)

Kelsey, David, and big sister Kinley welcomed a boy in October!
Name: Kason Scott
Birthday: October 11, 2011
Stats: 6.5 lbs. 19.5 inches

And lastly, Andi made the announcement that Jalena and Avianna are going to be big sisters! I will be sure to include a picture of her pregnancy cuteness in the upcoming months!

Wasn't this a busy month?! Congrats to all of you girls and your families!

September Club

September club marked the kick-off for our 2011-2012 YoungLives group! It was so good to see the girls after several months of break. The kids have all grown so much! Some were just babies a few months ago and now they are walking, talking toddlers!

Club started off with a humorous attempt to get Tristin and Kinley to race.

Next, the Mamas shared some of the milestones and achievements their babies reached this summer. Aiden has started eating finger food, says "mama", and has started walking!

LaKeisha brags on how Tristin can sing the whole chorus to a favorite song.

Loryn shows us how Lyllian can give kissy faces

Jalena and Aiden are such good kiddos! Look at them just sitting still and behaving!

All of the Mama's got to pick out goodies for their babies' achievements over the summer. Andi is picking out items for Avianna-- who is now rollling over, and Jalena-- who has started to use the big girl potty. Woo hoo!

We all met in the conference room next and Tanya opened up our club talk with some good songs. Is it just me or does listening to the acoustic guitar just so relaxing?

I think Kinley was captivated by the guitar too!

Robyn prepared a nice devotion about how sometimes our perspective of people, things, even God aren't always accurate. When it comes to knowing God, the one place to look for Truth is in his Word. We will be exploring this topic throughout the year.

Debbie and Carol got to participate in a drawing activity to complement Robyn's talk. This is Debbie's drawing {perspective} of Robyn. Beautiful!

Lastly, of course, is dinnertime! We were blessed with some homemade chicken noodle soup, cheesy garlic bread, and delicious brownies.

It was a great start to what will be a great year of YoungLives Belton! Thanks to all of those who've supported us to make club happen each and every month.
